Taster Sails

If you're new to sailing, or haven't sailed offshore before, why not try one of our Taster Sails on the river Mersey. We run these in autumn, winter and spring. They last about 4 hours and you don't need any previous sailing experience.

The skipper and an experienced Mate will meet you at the boat, kit you out with a life jacket and run you through a full safety brief before  heading out through the marina tidal lock and onto the Mersey.

You'll raise and lower sails, take a spell on the helm, practice tacking and manoeuvring the yacht and learn to tie some simple but very useful knots. We provide safety equipment, drinks and refreshments, you just bring yourself, some warm clothes, waterproof footwear and a willingness to have a go! Click here for details of our sailing programme.
