Many GP surgeries suffer the problem of reception desk congestion. Providing an information point away from the reception desk can help to relieve some of the traffic. Real-time messages displayed on the plasma screen keep patients fully informed about appointment running times, changes to services etc without the need for them to return to the reception desk.

By giving patients more choice and more direct access to information, you will be encouraging them to take more responsibility for their own well-being

Notices and leaflets placed in the waiting room have a limited value in achieving this aim.
